Free web-based Photoshop arrives

Users currently have up to 2G of storage space.

Since the application uses Adobe's Flex technology, Flash Player 9 is required. The company says Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari and other browsers are supported. One downside for Mac users is that there is currently no simple way of getting images from iPhoto into Photoshop Express.

While Photoshop Express is free during the beta period, Adobe hasn't indicated whether it will remain free or if a subscription will be necessary to access some or all of its features.

If it does remain free, presumably Adobe will look for a financial return by hooking up with photofinishing and other services.
