Aussie SmartAsset grabs Microsoft award

Business IT - Technology

The underlying asset data can be sourced from a self-contained SmartAsset SQL Server database or from the asset management modules of other products, including popular ERPs.
SmartAsset provides customers with four deployment options via which  they can use the product: using a client server or Windows deployment, using browser based access to functionality, via PDA deployment and through the Microsoft Office suite. It was for the fourth of  these deployment options, SmartAsset ODC, that the award was won.

“It’s very exciting to see SmartAsset being recognised for its functionality within such a powerful and globally utilised product offering such as Microsoft Office. Further, the beauty of SmartAsset is that, while it is a niche product for its functionality - asset management - it is general in its application. For instance, it can be used in the management of assets in water, rail, energy, mining, manufacturing, textiles and forestry industries and across a wide range of government sectors – with users able to utilise the solution in a format with which they are familiar,” Mr Ramsey added.

“The support that we have had from the Victorian Government, whose assistance enabled us to participate in the Microsoft Office Developers Conference, has been fantastic. It’s encouraging to see the IT industry receiving such support.”

“We’re now looking forward to building a closer relationship with Microsoft and their partners,” he concluded.
