Kingston's cheap and speedy flash drives

Business IT - Technology

A new series of USB flash drives from Kingston delivers capacity and performance at budget prices.

The DataTraveller 110 family ranges in capacity from 1G ($A13.90) to 8G ($A90.90). 2G ($A22.90) and 4G ($A38.90) models are also available.

Prices at the low end are competitive even with no-name products, although we didn't have much trouble finding cheaper (if anonymous) 8G drives advertised locally.

That said, a five-year warranty isn't to be sniffed at, and a lot of people we know prefer the retractable design as used by Kingston to the more traditional style with a removable cap.

Talking of styling, the DataTraveller models are colour-coded. In ascending order of capacity, the drives come in purple, blue, red, and green.
