Firefox 2.0.0.8 fixes multiple vulnerabilities

Business IT - Technology

An update for the open source Firefox browser fixes eight vulnerabilities, two of them critical.

One provide a way for an attacker to cause the execution of a JavaScript with the same privileges as the user, the other relates to multiple bugs that could potentially have been exploited to run arbitrary code following a forced crash.

Of the remaining vulnerabilities, four are regarded as being of moderate impact and the other two are rated low.

The Mac version of Firefox 2.0.0.8 also provides compatibility with the forthcoming Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard, though there are "known problems with some media plugins as well as Add-ons that contain binary components."
