Mac OS X 10.4.10 seeded to developers

Business IT - Technology

The first developer build of Mac OS X 10.4.10 was released last Friday, a Mac rumour site has reported.

Popular rumour site Think Secret says there are no known issues in this build, and that Apple has asked developers to comment on various aspects of the update including AirPort, FireWire and screen savers.

Both Intel and PowerPC versions have been released to developers.

Whether or not it will be the final point update for Leopard, is a matter for conjecture, even if Mac OS X 10.5 Tiger arrives in October as expected. 10.4.9 was released in March 2007, 10.4.8 in September 2006, 10.4.7 in June 2006 and 10.4.6 in April 2006 - so there is time for one or two updates between now and October.

While its always good to know that an operating system vendor continues to fix bugs right up to the release of a subsequent major version (and sometimes beyond, if security is affected), "ten point four point ten" or "ten dot four dot ten" doesn't trip off the tongue.
