In what will probably prove to be this month's least surprising news, Apple has confirmed that CEO Steve Jobs will give the keynote at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June.

The event takes place less than three weeks before the iPhone is due to ship and it's already been revealed that Apple will present a feature-complete version of Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard at WWDC, so it's hard to imagine circumstances other than another health scare that would see Jobs leave the keynote to someone else.

Conference streams cover a variety of material, including Mac OS X essentials, Leopard innovations and developer tools. Sessions cover diverse topics including Core Audio, Time Machine, Sync Services, Dashcode and AJAX.

WWDC runs from June 11 to 15 at Moscone West, San Francisco. Registration for the five-day event costs $1595, but a $300 early registration discount applies until May 11. The conference is only open to members of the Apple Developer Connection.
