Telstra has revealed the addition of almost one million new mobile services in the six months to December 2011, but Sensis revenues plummeted 24 percent in 12 months.
An updated version of DataViz RoadSync means Microsoft's Exchange ActiveSync can now be used with an installed base of more than 50 million mobile devices including the Motorola RAZR, KRZR, RIZR, ROKR, SLVR and PEBL.
Other popular Java MIDP 2.0 based mobile devices are supported, but DataViz' compatibility list only includes Motorola products.
The $US49.99 product allows users to send, receive, delete and reply to messages via their mobile phones. "There is often a trade off in physical device size and cost. Our RoadSync for Java client now provides the ability to carry a smartphone or PDA during the week and a more chic and lightweight phone for weekend use to maintain office connectivity and piece of mind," said RoadSync product manager Ilya Eliashevesky.
RoadSync uses technology licensed from Microsoft so no middleware is required. Instead, the product directly accesses Exchange Server 2003 or 2007.
Versions are also available for Symbian S60, S80 and UIQ 2/0/3.0; Windows Mobile 2003 SE (including Pocket PC Phone and Smartphone Editions); and Palm OS. Free trial versions are available from the company's web site.
