Axis has introduced a new range of indoor HD surveillance cameras.

The compact (10x5cm) Axis M3004 and M3005 fixed surveillance cameras are intended as an affordable choice for stores, hotels and other indoor locations. Apart from their modest price ($275 for the 720p M3004 and $375 for the 1080p M3005), the cameras use Power over Ethernet (PoE) for easy installation.

Other features include a microSDHC slot for onboard video storage, three-angle camera adjustment, and 'corridor format' for better coverage of corridors and aisles. Optional skins can be fitted to make the cameras less conspicuous.

The M30 series can be used with Axis' free Camera Companion software, which supports up to 16 cameras per site. They are also supported by other video management software form Axis and its partners.

The M3004 and M3005 are scheduled to ship during the third quarter.
