Full Stratfor user data released

Business IT - Security

Following news of the hack of the Stratfor site, the perpetrators have released extensive information on every subscriber (paid or otherwise) of Stratfor's on-line services.

Those responsible for the hack on the Stratfor computer systems have released the full trove of user information, including full contact information and credit card information (for those who have purchased a subscription).

In announcing the data release, Antisec (the apparent link between Anonymous and Lulzsec) have attributed their actions to the continued imprisonment (and now pre-trial) of accused Wikileaker Bradley Manning.

The information released appears to be genuine, but no affected person has yet come forward confirming their details, aside from this writer who has confirmed their own details are present as expected.

The data includes over 75,000 records with credit card numbers, expiry dates, CVV numbers and mailing addresses along with another 860,000 records with email addresses of 'free service' subscribers.

Others who have analysed the data (iTWire has chosen to look at nothing but our own information) note the presence of a huge number of military and other governmental addresses including over 20,000 .au email addresses, including nearly 4,000 .gov.au addresses.
