New cameras and video encoder from Axis Communications

Business IT - Security

Axis has released a raft of new products, including IP surveillance cameras and a video encoder blade to integrate analogue cameras with an IP video system.

Axis Communications' latest dome camera is an "aggressively priced" ran/tilt/zoom unit available in indoor and outdoor models.

The P5522 and P5522-E provide day and night functionality, with a maximum resolution of 720 x 576 for 50Hz operation. Power over Ethernet is used to simplify installation, while an optional cable allows the use of external sensors and relays.

"The indoor AXIS P5522 and the outdoor-ready AXIS P5522-E are aggressively priced pan/tilt/zoom network cameras that are ideal for price-conscious business owners," said Wai King Wong, Axis' ANZ country manager ANZ.

"The cameras are easy to install and allow any owner or manager to pan and tilt the cameras to see a 360° area and zoom in 18x with autofocus for detailed and sharp images. The cameras also have day and night functionality, which means that they automatically change to black and white mode in low light conditions for clearer results," he added.

The P5522 and P5522-E go on sale in April at prices that are yet to be announced.
