Marshal8e6 launches ‘industry first’ customisable email security service

Business IT - Security

Web and email security company, Marshal8e6 has launched what it claims is the first customisable hosted email security service in the Asia Pacific in a partnership with Perth SaaS provider, YOURasp.

Marshal8e6 says YOURasp will host its new service - MailMarshal as a Service - and also manage delivery to customers who will have access to anti-Spam, anti-Virus, content filtering and image analysis technology.

According to Marshal8e6, the solution has been designed to provide organisations with enterprise class email security and content filtering technology, and  it claims “unlike other managed security solutions available, MailMarshal as a Service is the first security service in the market which enables users to apply much more granular control over their policies by customising the email security and content filtering settings.”

Marshal8e6 Asia Pacific vice president of sales, Jeremy Hulse, said the service utilises the MailMarshal SMTP functionality and defense in depth engines for customers who prefer a hosted service to on-premise solutions, and will be initially available through Marshal8e6’s channel partners throughout Australia and New Zealand.

Hulse said YOURasp had offered ASP and SaaS-based solutions for almost 10 years and had the “deep expertise and understanding of the local market in these modes of delivery.”

According to Hulse, organisations require increasing levels of functionality and granularity but don’t necessarily have the time, resources or expertise to administer enterprise-level email security.

“MailMarshal as a Service is hosted in the cloud to give users access to email security just like any other utility such as electricity or water, but they have the ability to easily adjust the settings according to their needs and policies.”
