Australian businesses exercise caution with social networks

Business IT - Security

In short, the average user of Social Networking needs to exercise some caution in what they do and say.  Keep the kind of information used to identify yourself to your bank completely private.

And don't apply for the role of head of MI6.

It's the same when using Social Networking from work.  You might argue that it doesn't impact on your work, maybe you're correct.  You might use it only in your lunch break, but your employer can still get sued if you say something derogatory about someone with the money to respond.

Best thing is to use it as part of your job.  During work hours, engage your customers and colleagues, not your friends and family.
