New hires underpin McAfee Australian, APAC expansion

Business IT - Security

Australia’s contribution to record growth in the Asia Pacific region for McAfee is a significant factor in the security firm’s appointment today of four new executives and the expansion of its Australian operations with relocation of its Melbourne office, according to the company.

Announcing the appointment of four IT industry veterans with 85 years experience between them, McAfee’s Andrew Littleproud, regional director for Australian and New Zealand, said today the additions to the senior team and Melbourne office upgrade “underscore McAfee’s momentum in the Asia Pacific region as the company continues to build industry leadership and deliver strong financial results despite the current economic environment.”

As you’d expect for a company which says it is on a strong growth path, McAfee has focused primarily on sales and marketing in Australia and the Asia Pacific region with its four new executive appointments, including David Sykes, a 25-year IT veteran, who will be responsible for McAfee’s relationships with organisations that have “scale and influence in the Asia Pacific market.”

In other appointments, Jacqui Donovan takes up the role of McAfee’s regional marketing director for APAC, Paul Wilcox, becomes lead specialist, Asia Pacific – risk and compliance, and David Elliott has been appointed as partner sales manager for Australia and New Zealand.

Littleproud says expanding business needs had brought about the relocation of the Melbourne office to Riverside Quay in the heart of Southbank, and he added, the move further “underscores McAfee’s performance in the Australian market.”

According to Littleproud, first quarter revenue for McAfee globally marked the 13th consecutive quarter of double-digit, year-over-year growth for the company, with the Australian business contributing to record growth in the APAC region, which experienced 14 per cent year-over-year growth.

“McAfee’s new executive appointments and our office relocation in Melbourne are a reflection of McAfee’s strength and continued investment in the Australian market. We are excited about our high growth in the region and look forward to maintaining this momentum.”
