RACQ Implements Oracle-Based IT Infrastructure for Insurance Arm
To help enhance the performance of its insurance portfolio administration system and support ambitious growth plans, the Royal Automobile Club of Queensland (RACQ) has implemented a solid, robust and scalable IT infrastructure of Oracle server and database systems.The infrastructure upgrade followed RACQ's insourcing of its insurance arm from Suncorp in 2010. It involved the migration of the insurance portfolio administration and claims processing systems from IBM servers to Oracle's SPARC Enterprise M-Series servers running Oracle Solaris.RACQ also relies on Oracle for its disaster recovery and storage needs, with Oracle SAN Storage arrays connected to the SPARC Enterprise M-Series servers; Oracle's Sun ZFS Storage 7420 Appliance; and StorageTek SL500 Modular Library System.
