Don't you hate it when you read about a competition but never find out who won?
"While the original promotion was for one winner, the quality of responses and genuine need of the schools prompted Wavelink to award two wireless networks," said Wavelink MD Ilan Rubin.
The winning schools were The Lakes College (Brisbane) and Sacred Heart School (Melbourne).
Jan Hendry, Sacred Heart's deputy principal, said, "Winning the Meru Networks' Winter of Wireless K-12 school promotion means that Sacred Heart School can improve the speed and coverage of its existing network, which means students' can increase their capabilities, knowledge and skills without being constrained to the current setup of the school."
And David Kleinschmidt, IT manager at The Lakes, said "Winning the Meru Networks' Winter of Wireless K-12 school promotion means that The Lakes College can now provide high quality wireless to all senior students on the 1:1 laptop program to effectively deliver learning and education programs, assessments and electronic textbooks without the high incidence of drop outs the students experience on the current network."
Mr Rubin added "Wavelink will work with The Lakes College and Sacred Heart School to ensure that the wireless networks we provide are tailored to meet the individual requirements of each school and deliver a wireless solution that simply works, letting teachers focus on teaching instead of dealing with IT issues."
