Sourcefire announces 40Gbps IPS

Business IT - Networking

Need an IPS that can cope with serious bandwidth? Sourcefire's 3D8000 now scales to 40Gbps throughput.

A new quad stacking feature allows the Sourcefire 3D8000 to provide over 40Gbps of IPS inspection. Expansion in 10Gbps increments means a customer can start with a device that can cope with current requirements and scale up as needed.

Also new are the 3D7000 (500Mbps or 1Gbps throughput with eight-port copper interfaces) and the SSL-2000 that can decrypt up to 2Gbps of SSL traffic within 10Gbps of total traffic.

Company officials claimed the SSL-2000 delivers the best SSL decryption capability in the industry, and decrypts inbound and outbound traffic.
