Willunga business offers free taste of the NBN

Business IT - Networking

A small business in Willunga is giving its peers an opportunity to 'kick the tyres' of the NBN.

Willunga, South Australia is one of the first places on the mainland to gain NBN connections. And one of the first small businesses to get hooked up is allowing other businesses to sample the experience.

Office & Image, a locally owned office products and services business, was connected to the NBN last week, using Internode as its provider. It has set up a desktop PC and a notebook in its Hill Street premises so other businesses in the area can experience the NBN.

The company is providing this service to its peers without financial support from Internode.

"We're honoured to be among the first businesses on mainland Australia to be connected to the NBN," said Office & Image owner Lesley Bakker. "Although it's still in a test phase, our NBN connection can provide other businesses and organisations in Willunga with a chance to see what is possible with the NBN."

Internode product manager Jim Kellett "It's not until you actually see it [the NBN] in action that you understand what a difference it makes."
