MyNetFone SIP trunking certified for Microsoft Lync UC server

Business IT - Networking

MyNetFone has become the first service provider in Asia Pacific, and only the sixth worldwide, to have its SIP trunking service certified to interwork with Microsoft Lync Server 2010.

MyNetFone SIP trunking will be able to support unified communications integrating voice, video, fax, instant messaging and other features. Other certified providers are BT, Verizon Business, Global Crossing, Interoute and ThinkTel.

The move is part of MyNetFone's strategy to build up its enterprise business. It has also recently launched an Enterprise Partner Program, announcing Computer Networks as its first partner.

According to MyNetFone, "The certification '¦ enables enterprises to achieve simple integration and take advantages of the full range of Lync call features to be used seamlessly, thereby maximising its investments in Microsoft Lync platform."

MyNetFone technical director, Rene Sugo, said: "We worked very closely with Microsoft in the US to complete the testing. Achieving this interoperability and certification required dedicated engineering ingenuity and technical excellence, which we are very proud of."

He told ExchangeDaily: "This has cost us in excess of $100,000. It took us over a year of engineering time and all the testing had to be done in the US by a Microsoft approved test house."

He added: "All the certifications we have done have been a considerable investment. They involve changes to our network, changes to their software, not Microsoft, but Panasonic and Samsung have made changes to their software."

MyNetFone said its enterprise partner program was designed to meet the needs of integrators dealing with the VoIP requirements of larger business clients. It plans to appoint a limited number of enterprise partners in each state.

"The enterprise partner program is designed to ensure that enterprise partners and their customers receive the highest quality of service and full support from MyNetFone," the company said. "With air-tight service level agreements (SLAs) and 24/7 support, MyNetFone is committed to delivering a guaranteed level of service with regards to service installation and delivery times, response times for support requests and resolution times."

MyNetFone claims to be the only VoIP provider in Australia offering Enterprise-level SLAs. Partners are certified by MyNetFone to provide clients with on-site installation and Level l support.
