OzHub, the Macquarie Telecom-led cloud computing alliance, has come down firmly on the side of Optus over the copyright controversy surrounding Optus TV Now, warning that any moves to change the law "risk branding Australia a global luddite state."
VoIP service provider, MyNetFone has struck a deal with Panasonic to be the exclusive reseller of its DECT cordless VoIP business phone system and will bundle it with a multiline VoIP offering for small businesses.
According to MyNetFone, "this is a uniquely pure-VoIP SOHO solution unlike anything currently available in the market…and represents [our] first real venture into the SOHO market, joining [our] multi-line, virtual PBX and SIP trunk products aimed at the SME, enterprise, corporate and government markets."
The Panasonic phone range starts with the KX-TGP500, an entry-level DECT system comprising a location free base unit and a cordless handset. The Panasonic KX-TGP550 consists of a base unit with both a corded and cordless handset. Each unit can register up to 6 cordless handsets and up to three lines.
MyNetFone is offering four bundles on 24 or 36 month contracts. They range in prices from $59.95 per month with three lines, two direct in dial numbers and no included calls to $199.95 per month for three lines, five dial in numbers with 500 untimed domestic fixed line calls and 500 calls to mobiles included.
The cheapest plan comes with a Panasonic base station and two cordless handsets, the other plans come with a receptionist desktop phone, two or three handsets and an adaptor for a fax machine.
A comprehensive range of features such as voice mail caller ID, call waiting, forward and transfer are also included at no charge MyNetFone is also planning to allow customers to port in their existing numbers, but says there have been some delays and that facility will be introduced later.
The service can be used with a broadband service that has sufficient bandwidth.
