Pacnet ups data quotas on business-grade ADSL plans

Business IT - Networking

Pacnet has launched a new range of business grade ADSL plans with included data allowances of up to 300GB per month, targeted as SMEs.

Pacnet's new ADSL2+ plans start from $149.95 per month for 100GB of downloads and include a high-volume option with up to 300GB of downloads per month at $299.95 per month.  Previously the company's highest download quota on a business plan as 80GB.

Excess data is charged at 6c/MB and contract lengths range from month-to-month to 12 months and 24 months. Pacnet also offers a bundled broadband and PSTN voice service on the ADSL2+ 100GB plan which saves customers $10 per month compared with the unbundled plan.

'As with all our business grade services, customers will have 24x7 access to our qualified technical support team, Pacnet Australian and New Zealand CEO, Deborah Homewood said. "We believe businesses will appreciate the high level of customer service that we deliver to the market, and we back our Business DSL services with a 99 percent service level guarantee.'
A Pacnet spokeswoman told iTWire the new plans had been introduced to deal with businesses increasing turning to consumer grade ADSL plans to cater for growing data volumes, a move which it said put them at risk.

Pacnet does not specify the contention ratios on the plans - it has even higher grade offerings for businesses that do come with contention ration guarantees. However the spokeswoman said: "We believe our contention ratios to be considerably better than consumer grade offerings, and better than some of our competitors' business grade offerings."
