Equinix extends data centre to Melbourne, Brisbane via Nextgen

Equinix is offering the facilities of its Sydney Internet Business Exchange in Melbourne and Brisbane, using capacity on the Nextgen network. According to Equinix, "this service will offer a high-performance network interconnection that will enable companies in Victoria and Queensland to directly connect to carriers, ISPs and other network service providers operating within the Sydney IBX as if they were located in that centre. Equinix will offer a variety of peering port access solutions dependent on customer's needs." Existing Sydney IBX customers will also benefit from gaining immediate access to over 80 network and content partners in other major Australian business centres, according to Equinix.
