NSW Gov't broadband network turned on

Business IT - Networking

NSW premier, Morris Iemma has launched the NSW Government broadband service, the core network of which was designed and built by Soul (formerly SP Telemedia).

Soul was awarded the exclusive contract to construct the network in January 2005. It comprises a state-wide IP/MPLS network for the NSW Government with 26 network access points (NAPs). Soul has also been appointed to the local access panel of providers for the network, enabling it to compete for the provision of access links to the core network for agencies across NSW.
