Washington, D.C. has shown good progress within the last year, going from position #11 to #3, primarily by improving its Wi-fi hot spots and its broadband adoption rate.
Orlando, Florida ranks high with a lot of help from Walt Disney World.
Boston, Massachusetts is also strong in the rankings due to its multitude of educational institutions such as Harvard University, Boston University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and many smaller colleges such as Emerson College.

Interestingly, Forbes magazine ranked Minneapolis, Minnesota higher than New York City, with a ranking of number seven (#7).
On the other hand, Raleigh, North Carolina plummeted from number three (#3) to number fifteen (#15), while fellow North Carolina city Charlotte also dropped drastically from number seven (#7) to number twenty (#20).
