Other statistics from the Intel/Harris survey are:

61% of women, and 58% of both men and women, said they would rather give up television for two weeks rather than go without the Internet for one week.

65% of all U.S. adults surveyed said they cannot live with the Internet.

Along with this percentage for the Internet, 39% said they cannot live without cable television, 20% said dining out, 18% said shopping for clothes, and 10% said gym memberships were indispensible in their lives.

71% of all U.S. adults said they consider Internet-enabled devices (such as netbooks, mobile Internet devices, and laptops) important or very important.
