Within two weeks, he sold 4500 pixels, which has apparently covered the time and other resources needed to create the site. However, that's only 16 ads, and Black has estimated that he needs 280 advertisers in order for the site to gain sufficient attention to take off in a big way.

"[I]f you apply the concept of the long tail to people, I don't need to have the Coca Cola company advertising on the MillionDollarCu.be in order to succeed," said Black.

"I just need 280 people wanting to boost traffic to their website, or get their shiny new logo in front of people's eyes, or who respect this attempt at beating the nay-sayers."
