Apple adds another 60 days to MobileMe subscriptions

The extension will be applied "within the next few days."

If an account is renewed before the extension is applied, the extra 60 days will eventually be added to the term of the renewal.

"We are working very hard to make MobileMe a great service we can all be proud of," said Apple officials. "We know that MobileMe's launch has not been our finest hour."

They can say that again. The service was practically inaccessible during the launch weekend (apparently due to the number of iPhone buyers that signed up), there have been email outages, and users are still reporting intermittent synchronisation problems.

Apple has sent emails to users' MobileMe email addresses to notify them of the extension.
