Flickr users to be paid for their pics!

The initial goal is a collection of thousands of images in a range of styles and with relevance to various regions. The size of the collection is expected to grow significantly over time.

Online photo sharing sites such as Flickr provide photography enthusiasts with a way of taking their work to a wide audience, but sorting the best from the dross is a time consuming activity. While photographers retain copyright to their images and Flickr does provide a way of indicating what rights are offered (the use of a Creative Commons licence is not unusual), there has been no mechanism for allowing paid commercial use without direct negotiation between the parties.
