Kirk Mishkin, Head Research Consultant for AIMRCo, told me that "Many of the sites we surveyed have reported 20 - 30 percent growth in membership rates since mid-May when the checks were first sent out, and typically the summer is a slow period for this market."

Using a connected network of some 400 pay sites and 2000 affiliates, AIMRCo gathers the necessary data for its market trend assessment. This research included a survey which went out to members of various adult sites which then reported figures back to AIMRCo. Jillian Fox, a spokeswoman for one of them, says that "In a June 15, 2008 survey to our members, thirty two percent of respondents referenced the recent stimulus package as part of their decision to either become a new member, or renew an existing membership."

Bush had intended to revive the economy, but it looks like he might just have provided stimulation to revive more than that.
