Gartner rates Reach top Asian IP backbone

For the fifth year in a row, Gartner Group has ranked Reach the top Asian IP backbone operator in terms of intra-Asia connectivity. 

"Reach offers superior regional connectivity through its combination of high backbone capacity and excellent geographic reach, especially in North Asia," said Mr To Chee Eng, Gartner's research director for Telecom in the Asia-Pacific and author of the Gartner report. "We take into consideration capacity, the ability to connect to more countries, peering capabilities and customer relationships with major ISPs, when evaluating which carrier has the best regional connectivity" To said.<br><br>According to Mr Wei-Chou Su, Reach's director of customer management, "Reach's intra-Asia IP network capacity has increased from 17Gbps to 27Gbps over a 12-month period, and global customer traffic has increased from 23Gbps to 36Gbps during the same period."<br><br>The Reach IP backbone network was also ranked the best connected IP network centred in the Asia-Pacific region and the sixth best in the world by research firm Netconfigs.
