Internode extends ADSL2+ rollout

Business IT - Networking

ISP Internode is investing $A9 million in an extension of its ADSL2+ footprint.

The company currently has a presence at more than 90 telephone exchanges, and has begun installation at another 18 in the ACT, NSW, Queensland, South Australia and Victoria.

A further 46 exchanges in NSW, Victoria and Queensland have been earmarked for subsequent installation.

Although Internode stopped its rollout earlier this year, managing director Simon Hackett said "We have decided to continue building our broadband infrastructure to get on with being a strong competitor and trusting that the regulatory regime that has made this sort of vigorous competition possible will continue to be supported and strengthened by the Federal Government into the future."

The company recently announced the 10,000th customer for its NodePhone VoIP service.
