The eMite product was designed to provide an integrated view of business service management and monitoring solutions for internal IT department and external IT service providers.

CSC will use eMite as part of its service management maturity program. The software will automatically collect data from multiple system monitoring tools, ITSM tools and reporting data warehouses (from BMC, CA, EMC and IBM), and automatically deliver unified metrics in the context of the business service.
"eMite will enable CSC's capacity and availability teams within enterprise service management to access various disparate data sources promptly and analyse the data in the eyes of their customers through its business service model," said Shellie Bischoff, CSC's national ITIL capacity manager. "The platform's ability to identify business patterns combined with eMite risk bands will enable CSC to focus on the real issues and enable us to deliver our capacity management service in a new light."
The risk bands Ms Bischoff mentioned are an eMite feature that sets warning thresholds automatically according to the behaviour of individual metrics.
