iTWire UPDATE - it's FREE!

Veeam Software has added capacity planning to its Veeam ONE virtual infrastructure optimisation tool.

Veeam ONE now includes capacity planning as well as performance, configuration and utilisation optimisation for virtual data centres using VMware.

The new capabilities include recommendations for hardware planning and provisioning, the inclusion of custom configurations in what-if analysis, and the identification of over-provisioned storage.

"Our customers tell us that one of their biggest challenges is keeping up with the growing demand for virtualisation and cloud computing," said Doug Hazelman, Veeam's senior director of product strategy.

"The new hardware planning and what-if analysis features in Veeam ONE provide valuable planning guidance to datacenter managers and help them avoid being surprised by capacity crises that would force them to make hasty and costly last-minute purchase decisions," he added.

The new features are available for all editions of Veeam ONE at no extra charge.
